Beaudry RV Car Show – 09/12/2009

September 12th, 2009 No comments

Today we presented at the Beaudry RV sales lot where a car show was being held.  We staged at Love’s Truck Stop, unfurled the flags and rode through the sales room and staged at the front on the building.

This event was not without some incidents.

  1. Flag mount on Deanna’s bike broke en-route to Love’s Truck Stop.  This was fixed by Beaudry repair shop prior to the presentation.
  2. My bike (Chuck’s) would not start.  (Quick bump start fixed that.  No more problems here.)
  3. While going through the sales room, the backdoor was not rolled high enough and we hit it with the American flag pole.  (Quick change of poles fixed this.)

Apache Junction Event – 9/11/2009

September 15th, 2009 No comments

We led a short parade to the rodeo grounds in Apache Junction on 9/11/2009 and set our bikes on a static display.  Actually we were in the 2nd position as a Apache Junction fire truck led the parade.

At the rodeo grounds they had a petting zoo for the kids, free pie along with a pie eating contest and free hot dogs and chips. They also had a 50/50 drawing which several of entered.  We started getting lightening in the distance so decided that it might be a good idea to leave just in case of rain so missed the 50/50 drawing.

This even was partially sponsored by the Cross Roads Church.

If you have read my “About Me”, you can see that I ride a Honda Gold Wing.  I am also a member of the Motorcycle Color Guard of America.  We are a group of 12 Gold Wing riders that carry and present the military flags at the special events.   I will write up the activities and give some pictures as they occur here.
